Today we viewed a PP on the structure of the Florida Writes!, the writing prompt section of the FCAT. We also began our first writing exercise on the following prompt:

"During free reading time, your English teacher frequently plays soft, calming music that you would like to change. Decide what type of background music you would like played during this free reading time. Write to persuade your English teacher to play the type of music you prefer."

Students had approximately 45-minutes to write as much of the essay as they could.
